EGX 2023 is here, and RPS (Rock, Paper, Shotgun) is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the Rezzed Zone this year. With over 50 indie games showcased, this event promises to be an exhilarating experience for gaming enthusiasts. While most of these games are exclusively playable at the event, some have demos available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest. Let’s dive into the full line-up of games that will grace the EGX 2023 showfloor.

EGX 2023 is currently taking place at London’s Excel, starting from Thursday, October 12th, and running until Sunday, October 15th. Organized by Reedpop UK, this event provides a platform for both established and emerging developers to showcase their creations. If you’re interested in attending, day tickets are still available for purchase. The RPS team, including myself, will be present, immersing ourselves in the world of indie gaming. We aim to play as many games as possible, not only in the Rezzed Zone but also in the captivating Leftfield Collection.

With so many games to choose from, five titles have particularly grabbed my attention. First on my list is the Octopia expansion of Eastward, a game that offers a unique spin on the life simulation genre. Inspired by Animal Crossing, it presents a captivating world that I’m eager to explore. Joining the ranks is #BLUD, a thrilling venture that combines elements of Cult Of The Lamb with gory gameplay. Its promise of blood and guts has piqued my interest. Additionally, Bo: Path Of The Teal Lotus, a hand-drawn Japanese folklore adventure, is a must-play for fans of Katharine’s delightful game choices.

Another game that has captured my curiosity is Leximan. This turn-based RPG incorporates elements of both Undertale and fast typing games. Battles are conducted by combining word fragments to form magical spells, offering a fresh approach to the genre. Although I intended to play a demo of Leximan earlier this year, time conspired against me. Needless to say, I am excited to finally delve into it at EGX 2023.

The Rezzed Zone boasts a variety of other engaging games. Ghostpia Season One, a visual novel, invites players to embark on a mysterious journey. Loddlenaut combines puzzle-solving with ocean cleanup in a unique and thought-provoking way. Loco Motive, a point-and-click adventure, challenges players to unravel an intricate mystery. The Spirit Of The Samurai, a hack and slash game featuring stop-motion animation, promises a visually captivating experience. Finally, When The Light Dies, a roguelite survival game, presents an enticing blend of challenging gameplay and captivating storytelling.

EGX 2023 offers an incredible array of indie games to explore. With such an exciting line-up, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. We would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. If there’s a specific game you’d like us to cover or if any of these games have caught your eye, please let us know in the comments section below. We look forward to sharing our in-depth highlights and experiences from EGX 2023 with you in the coming days. Join us as we embark on this thrilling gaming adventure!
